Nadia Sawalha cheekily asks James Martin why he’s ‘so grumpy’ on This Morning

Nadia Sawalha shocked her Loose Women co-stars on Friday’s show after she cheekily asked James Martin why he can be ‘so grumpy’ on This Morning.

The famous chef, 48, appeared on the ITV chatshow to talk about his new tour James Martin Live when chat soon turned to his cooking segments on television.

Praising the star for his ‘no nonsense’ attitude, Nadia cheekily said: ‘You’re not showbiz at all. To be honest, sometimes on This Morning you are so grumpy…

‘But I love that you don’t care. You don’t do all that: “Hi, wonderful.” You’re just miserable sometimes, aren’t you?’

Nadia’s remark left her shocked co-stars Kaye Adams, Frankie Bridge and Judi Love all with their heads in their hands.

Yet fortunately James was unfazed by the questions as he joked the reason he is ‘so grumpy’ is due to waking up at 4am and the ‘random’ questions he is asked.

He replied: ‘I’ve got to get up at 4 o’clock in the morning, so yeah. As you know, if you’ve got a restaurant during these times, it is not the easiest time at the moment.

Laughing off Nadia’s question, host Kaye, 58, said: ‘As she [Nadia] said, very no nonsense, we love you for it!’

At the end of the interview, the four panellists asked: ‘Why don’t you play us out’ after talking about his upcoming tour.

To which James joked: ‘Why don’t you buy a ticket to come see me.’

Standing by her comments, Nadia quipped: ‘I told you he’s grumpy!’

In November, James was left fuming on This Morning after the show descended into chaos as he tried to prepare a bowl of soup and cheese straws for the presenters.

As the chef talked viewers through how to make the straws, presenter Holly Willoughby, 40, shouted over to alert the TV chef that his soup was boiling over.

Holly cried: ‘You’re soup, James, your soup!’ to which he quipped: ‘I know what I’ll be doing at the break, cleaning the hob!’

However moments later, Phil added: ‘It’s going again, there’s not going to be anything left in that pan!’

Trying to take control of the situation, James then said: ‘Back over to our soup, whatever we have left, yeah there’s some there!’

However disaster struck again when he went over to his blender and then lid came flying off.

Holly joked: ‘You’re having a really good day aren’t you?’

Unable to contain his stress, James playfully fumed: ‘I’ve got a director in my ear saying I’ve got seven minutes, then six minutes, now I’ve got one minute apparently. Look at the state of this!’

However Phil soon added insult to injury by questioning James on what the ‘skid mark’ was in his soup.

Phil said: ‘In this soup I’ve just eaten, there was a brown skid mark. What was that?’

While an exasperated James, replied: ‘I got up at 5 in the morning to come here!’

Later in the show Phil and Holly panned back to James in the studio kitchen as he continued to clear up the mess he had made while cooking.

Phil said: ‘He’s still clearing up!’

James added: ‘There’s nothing left to see!’, while mopping away at the floor.

Eamonn Holmes reveals he slipped three discs in his back six weeks ago

Eamonn Holmes has revealed that he slipped three discs in his back leaving him in so much pain that he couldn’t sleep.

The TV presenter, 61, has suffered ill health recently, having detailed his chronic health battle openly on social media since dislocating his pelvis.

But on Wednesday’s Loose Women the star also said that he is dealing with the pain of three slipped discs and even has to use crutches to get around.

Speaking to guest presenters Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon who asked how his back was he said: ‘Thanks for asking me because obviously no one else is bothered to ask or wonders, I don’t like to complain, but its three slipped discs.

‘Actually I have to come on here with a crutch, that’s the way I am at the moment.

‘Honestly the thing about this, we can sit about me and I’ve got steroid injections and everything is ok and hopefully I’ll be ok, but for me it’s amazing to see how many of you are suffering from chronic pain, doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman, young old.’

He went on to say: ‘I couldn’t sleep at night, lying there at night while Ruth was sound asleep next to me and it was awful, it was honestly awful.

‘I’m six weeks down the road with that, I’ve got the injections that takes away the acute pain. It’s a blessing, but the physicality of not being able to stand straight, but I’m going to do a rehabilitation to get better.’

It comes after last week Eamonn confirmed he was feeling good ‘for the first time in five weeks’ after a visit from his physiotherapist.

Eamonn added that he believes his improved health is also a result of his steroid injections ‘kicking in’.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: ‘My Physio has just left, and u know what ? For the first time in 5 weeks I feel good!

‘Can’t believe I’m saying that but steroid injections from last week must be kicking in too. The comeback starts here ……. I hope.’

The Northern Irish star has been struggling with pain after a dislocated pelvis made his back go ‘out of alignment’, which caused him difficulty to walk.

But last week Eamonn shared how circulation boosters have helped him ‘get back out there’ doing daily activities.

According to The Sun, Eamonn said of the treatment: ‘I had a bit of difficulty with waking before and after a double hip operation.’

As well as using the circulation booster, Eamonn has helped alleviate his pain with physiotherapy and ice cold showers, which have left him feeling ‘invigorated’ amid his health woes.

Eamonn first spoke about his dislocated pelvis back in March and had an MRI scan recently to have further tests done after being left in chronic pain.

Earlier this month, Eamonn detailed how a dislocated pelvis started his chronic health battle as he waited for results of an MRI scan because his pain has escalated.

He joked in an interview with the Irish Independent that his injury is ‘nowhere near as erotic as it sounds’.

He told the publication: ‘I mysteriously dislocated my pelvis and I don’t know how — it’s not as erotic as it sounds. My back is now out of alignment as a result.’

The Belfast native went on to reveal that since he spoke of his gruelling pain on social media, he found it ‘absolutely scary’ the number of people who are also living with chronic pain.

‘Nobody knows what it’s like unless they live with someone who has it.’ he said. ‘I’m in huge pain and nobody knows how to stop it.

‘This hurts like hell and I need to find a way to overcome it. It has lasted a month and it feels like I can’t remember what life was like without the pain.’

Eamonn and Ruth got married in 2010 following a 13-year romance, and are doting parents to teenage son Jack, 19.

Eamonn also has children Declan, Rebecca and Niall from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes.

Duchess of Cornwall is a Loose Women but won’t watch The Crown

Loose Women’s royal seal of approval! Duchess of Cornwall often watches the daytime chat show while she’s not working but steers clear of The Crown, her son Tom Parker Bowles reveals

  • Tom Parker Bowles says his mother Camilla is a fan of the ITV daytime chat show
  • Appeared on programme to promote his new Fortnum & Mason book about tea
  • Admitted he forgot to tell mum about appearance but knew she ‘likes’ the show
  • Revealed that neither he or his mother watch Netflix royal drama The Crown

When she’s not busy performing royal duties across the country, it seems the Duchess of Cornwall likes to settle down and watch a bit of daytime TV.

Appearing on ITV today, her son Tom Parker Bowles told the show’s hosts that while she can’t always ‘nip off and watch Loose Women’, the 73-year-old royal will try her best to catch the programme.

Food writer Tom, 46, admitted that he’d forgotten to warn his mother about his appearance on the daytime talk show, but that he wasn’t too concerned because he ‘knows what she likes’.

He also revealed that neither he nor his mother watch The Crown – but that if Camilla was to curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea, her brew of choice would be English Breakfast with a slice of lemon.

Tom Parker Bowles says his mother Camilla, pictured during a visit to a London hospital last year, is a fan of ITV daytime chat show Loose Women

Speaking of a chat with one of the show’s producers, he said: ‘She said “Have you rang your mum to ask her?” And I thought, “Oh gosh I’ve forgotten”. But I know what she likes.’

Confirming that his mother is a fan of the show, he explained: ‘I can’t remember which one of you she told but she doesn’t lie about that sort of stuff, so she said it, it’s true, she does.

Asked if Camilla is a regular viewer, he said: ‘When she’s working she can’t nip off and watch Loose Women but when she’s not, most definitely.’

Tom was appearing to promote his new book for Fortnum & Mason, Time for Tea, which provides an expert guide to all the different teas in the high-end department store.

When asked what Camilla would typically drink he said: ‘I don’t think she drinks so much tea anymore, but it would be I’d say English Breakfast, but with a slice of lemon and not milk.’

When quizzed on whether his mum watched Netflix royal drama The Crown, the food critic cheerfully answered: ‘I can answer truthfully, no and no!’.

The latest season of the royal drama, which premiered last November, shows Charles meeting and marrying an innocent Diana while maintaining his affair with the then-married Camilla.

Culture secretary Oliver Dowden demanded in November last year that Netflix make clear the royal drama is ‘fiction’.

He claimed viewers should be warned at the start of each episode that it was not ‘fact’ after mounting concern that fabricated scenes in the drama series were so damaging to the Royal Family.

‘It’s a beautifully produced work of fiction, so as with other TV productions, Netflix should be very clear at the beginning it is just that,’ he told The Mail on Sunday.

‘Without this, I fear a generation of viewers who did not live through these events may mistake fiction for fact.’
